North Fulton Community Charities

North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) compassionately works to prevent homelessness in North Fulton County by supporting families and individuals during short-term emergencies. Since 1983, they have been committed to assisting families with rent, utilities, transportation, food, clothing, medicine, and other basic needs. Personnel and operating costs for NFCC are funded mostly by the income from the NFCC Thrift Shop, which is made possible by donations from the local community.

The following is a list of ways you can be involved with NFCC:
  • Serve with your community group.
  • Volunteer individually in one of their ongoing opportunities.
  • Donate some of their most-needed items.
  • Register to receive occasional updates on last-minute or one-time service opportunities or donation needs.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities
NFCC can utilize volunteers in their food pantry, thrift shop, and reception desk. Specifically:
  • Volunteers are needed to receive and sort food donations, stock shelves and distribute food to our clients. These volunteers are encouraged to work a four-hour morning or afternoon shift once per week. Substitutes are also needed.
  • For the thrift shop, volunteers are needed to receive, sort, and stock donations as well as staff the store.
  • Volunteers are needed for registering clients, answering telephones, data entry, filing, and assisting with special mailings. These volunteers are encouraged to work a four-hour morning or afternoon shift once per week. Substitutes are also needed

Volunteer hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The thrift shop has additional hours
Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
